Dr. Michele Haber is a board-certified geriatric medicine & internal medicine physician specializing in comprehensive care of the elderly. 

Dr. Michele Haber, the principal of Geriatrics Consulting Services, is a board-certified Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine specialist and Certified Medical Director (CMD) with extensive experience in geriatric evaluation, medical education, medical management and clinical practice. She has practiced in geriatric assessment centers, nursing homes, subacute units, specialized in dementia units, adult day health care, home care, outpatient care and hospitals. Most recently, she was Medical Director of both the Transitional Care Unit and the Geriatric Outpatient Clinic at the Sticht Center of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She maintains a current faculty appointment in Public Health Education and Gerontology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Geriatrics Consultation Services are provided by a Geriatric Medicine physician specialist trained in the care of older persons. Individualized assessments and care are provided where the person lives, be it the home, assisted living or other long-term care facility setting, to order to meet the entire spectrum of biomedical, psychosocial and functional health needs of the individual, the family, and the organizations that serve them. Where specific service needs for seniors are not always obvious, an initial evaluation conference can assist seniors and their families to identify the most appropriate Geriatrics Consultation Services for their situation. Organizational Consultation services are similarly designed to be specific to the identified needs of the particular organization. When referrals to other disciplines or services are warranted, these are coordinated to assure that the care provided remains appropriate to meet identified needs. The purpose for providing Geriatrics Consulting Services is to preserve dignity, promote functional independence and optimize quality of life for seniors and caregivers alike.

Care philosophy
GCS provides personalized care to seniors, their families, and the organizations that serve them. Assessments are conducted where the person lives, be it a family home, assisted living center or other care facility, because that is the best place to incorporate the entire spectrum of biomedical, psychosocial and functional health needs. Philosophically, the belief is that "less is more", and that age alone should never be a barrier to competent, compassionate and comprehensive health care.
