The Boat House is a specialty canoe and kayak store, located on the Mohawk River.  The business has been at this location for over 30 years.  The present owners have been operating it since 1980.  Sales, rentals and repairs make this store a place of repeat business.

Co-owner Bud Halsey is a veteran Sculler (ROWER) who gives private sculling lessons.  A basic kayaking class is taught weekly by Sally Halsey, May through August.

Along with boats and lessons, The Boat House has many different accessories and the expertise to help you find what is right for you.  Both Yakima and Thule cartop racks are sold, and assistance is given with installation.  Less expensive foam block racks are also available.

The Boat House maintains a large demo fleet of canoes and kayak made available to try before purchase.  The regular rental fee applies, but up to $30 per season can be applied to a purchase of a boat.  Brand new boats can also be tried for a $50 charge.  This will allow the brief trial of up to 3 boats and may be applied to the purchase of a boat this year.
